Smallest Positive Integer: One or 1.
Smallest Positive Integer: Meaning
A Positive integer is a set of the whole number starting from 1 represented on the number line. It is represented as:
{1, 2, 3, …., n}
Here n represents the positive infinity.
Important note: Whole numbers consist of positive integers and zero (0). Even if 0 is a whole number and an integer, but it is neither a positive integer nor a negative integer.
So the smallest positive integer is 1.
Why one or 1 is the smallest positive integer?
In our daily lives, we use positive integers in counting things and doing calculations. For instance, counting the inventory stocks in the warehouse, or how many pieces of an item we have, the valuation of the stock in the warehouse, etc. We use positive integers and basic math in totalling various items.
The integers consist of numbers that don’t consist of fractions and decimals and can be represented on the number line.
Set of Integers is {…, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, …}
The set of positive integers is a set of integers that are greater than zero. Hence we exclude all the possible negative integers and zero from the set of integers. And we get the set of positive integers, which is:
{1, 2, 3, …., n}
Thus, the smallest positive integer is one or 1.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Choose the smallest positive integer from the given options?
A) 0 B) 1
C) 100 D) 3
Ans: The smallest positive integer is 1. So, the correct option is B.
2. Is Zero is a negative integer, state true or false?
Ans: The above statement is false. Zero (0) is neither a positive nor a negative integer.
3. Are fractions integers?
Ans: No, fractions are not integers. However, if a fraction represents a whole number, then it is called an integer.
Example : \frac{24}{8}=3
