A quadrilateral means a figure having four sides. A square has 4 sides where all the sides and angles are equal. The area of a square means the measure of the surface covered by the square, which is equal to the product of its two sides i.e., <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">a^{2}<\/span> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where a is the side of the square.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First, we take a square of side 5 cm. Now we make vertical and horizontal lines of width 1 cm.
